Load Input of topology optimization

Hello,

I am solving an optimization problem of an automotive alternator bracket which is circular in shape.

The cyclic rib formation (material removal as defined by ucyc) occurs only for a certain load values. It doesn't happen for either higher or lower load values. How is this possible?

    Hi Karth,

Can you please elaborate your question?

I am assuming you are going with topography optimization, is that right?

    Hello Prakash,

Thanks for your intervention upon this query.

As rightly predicted, I am going on for topology optimization.

The mounting bracket consists of several ribs to be formed like spokes in a cycle wheel.

This is the conventional norm for the alternator bracket design to allow air flow to cool the stator windings inside.

So here, material removal doesn't occur(base line model is a filled disc as, imagine a solid cycle wheel fully filled without spokes) after topology optimization process,  except for a mid range load value.

    How could this be possible.?

could you share snapshot of your baseline model?
