Created a student account, obtained a license key, authorized the license and installed ESACOMP but the program is erroring out looking for a license file. The current license model does not generate a license file to permit it to being used.

    Hi Noah,

You no longer need .dat file to activate the license.

Please obtain the activation key from the Student Edition Bundle on Altair One Marketplace and enter the key in altair license utility (almutil) to activate the license. Kindly follow this video to access the student edition bundle on the Altair One marketplace and successfully activate the license using the activation key - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4_-4MZNF7Y.

When I type in the activation code, this pops up.

I also notice that when I press on "Manage Licenses" in my Altair account, it does not show any licenses.

What else do I need to do?

    Hi,

"License already exists in license store" means the license is already active and stored on your system.

Now that your license is active, could you please try to open the EDEM software? If you encounter any further license errors, kindly share the screenshot here.

I am having the same problem.  I don't believe ESACOMP is linked to the new licensing model because when I install ESACOMP it does not create the Altair folder in the C:\Program Files path.  It is not linked to it it seems.

    Hi,

Can you check if you can find 'almutil_gui.exe' in the ESAComp folder on your computer?

We have a purchased Altair license, and I’m experiencing the same issue.
I’m encountering the same error (image attached). During the installation, it doesn’t give the option to log in, and later it asks for a license file (which doesn’t exist in the path shown in the image).

I’ve checked, and I don’t have the file mentioned in the last comment from April 3rd, "almutil_gui.exe".

How can I install the ESAComp program with my license?
