How to apply wind pressure by pload,pload4 or another?
hi,
I have a problem that I need to simulate the wind blowing on an inclined plane. Theoretically, the wind force is equal to the wind pressure multiplied * the projected area. But when I use pload4 simulation, the wind force is the wind pressure * surface area; When using pload simulation, the wind force is the wind pressure* surface area, and the direction is perpendicular to the object surface.
As shown below。may be there are some ways to simulate this state, expecting an answer .Thank you .

Hi Young,
You can generally use PLOAD4 for this kind of case if you want to apply pressure that's not normal to the element surface as I think is the case here for wind loading in your model. A PLOAD4 gives you the flexibility to define pressures with a vector direction, other than normal to the elements. A PLOAD doesn't have this option and the pressure direction is set normal to the element surface based on the grid points.
Thanks,
Rob H.

Hi Rob H.,
Thanks for your reply.Pload4 can be used for defining pressures with a vector direction, the resultant force generated is not windpressure*project area, but windpressure*actual area. Unfortunately, this result is not what I expected.
