initial stress subcase cannot be used as preloading

I need to apply initial stress on shell structure, and recover the deformed mesh to be assembled with other components using welds and bolts,

then do a normal modes analysis, everything i well and fine exept when I add the normal modes subcase and use the initial stress subcase as a preload I get the following error

*** ERROR # 6518 ***
Subcase 1 takes initial stress and it cannot be used as a preloading
subcase or an eigenvalue buckling referential subcase.

Theoretically, I cannot find anything in FEM that would prevent us from doing this, so is there a work around this

I tried to add second static subcase (dummy subcase) that continue the solution from the first subcase (initial stress subcase), then use the dummy subcase as a preload for the normal modes subcase but the same error msg apeared

    Hi Rajashri,

Find attached the files *.fem, *.h3d ..etc

In addition I included a pptx to explain the simulations.

could you please let me know why this is not supported, and if there another approach to this

    thank for your support

    Hi Bilel,

I ran your model in 2024V and it runs without error though it gives warning regarding possible rigid body modes. Can you please fix this and try running in latest version which is 2024V?

Attached is the .out file of my run.

    Thanks

    Rajashri

    Hi Bilel,

From the error message it looks like it is not supported.

Still for verification I need the .fem file.

Please upload it so that I can check.

    Thanks

    Rajashri

Thank you rajashri for the support, I've run the model on V2023 and it is working fine. Concerning the rigid body modes there were some some floating elements I fixed them also
