This is used in the case of having 2nd order elements in your model (e.g. Quad 8, Tetra 10) elements where there are additional nodes halfway along each vertex.

If the mid-side nodes results are taken into account, whether it will disturb the correctness of the FEA results, especially for the metal or rubber stress analysis.
