modeling apply support settlement

Hi,

Currently i am doing a project which is to assess an existing building close to ground excavation.

Part of the building columns (supporting on pile cap) will experience settlements.

Main purpose is to check what is the impact on the structure frames due to the settlements.

Please advise how should I apply the settlement on the column supports in analysis modeling.

For future reference, and for other users that might ask themselves the same question, I will post my comments from the case on Service Now here as well:

There is a tool dedicated to applying settlements on supports on the Loads window: the Support Settlement Tool. When using this tool, you will be able to apply a support settlement load (a displacement), which the solver will take into consideration when calculating the support reactions. You will be able to determine the displacement's magnitude, and its direction (one of the 6 existing DoFs; translation for the X, Y, and Z axes, and rotation about the X, Y, and Z axes):

Additionally, if you were to run a nonlinear analysis on the structure, you can also use the displacement control method, which can be toggled on or off in the 'Analysis Type' dialog. To do this, you must assign a displacement to the control joint for a particular DoF, where the control joint is free to move in that direction. If you were to use displacement control, bear in mind that it's only possible to have at most one for each LC.
