Hyperview will not correctly select nodes

Hi guys,

Attached image below for clarity.

I'm dealing with a very odd problem. I prepare the surface that I want to collect data from using Sectional cuts in Hyperview. I go to the 'Query' tab and then I use the 'By Plane' feature to capture the nodes. A long time ago, when I first started using Hyperview, this totally worked. Now it's got to where it will not work at all.

Changing axes (x, y, or z) and selecting a base point on the applicable surface selects nodes in an entirely different plane than what they should be in. What's worse is that no matter which one I select (x, y, or z) the nodes that are selected are always the exact same sets of nodes that I'm trying to select.

So then, I tried using the 'normal to screen' feature. And that works 50% of the time. I really have no clue what makes it work and what doesnt. Anyways, now it's got to where that doesn't even work.

So, to recap the problem:

Query Feature: selecting nodes by plane:

1. X, Y, Z axes always yields the exact same sets of nodes that ARE NOT the nodes I've selected. They're always perpendicular to the actual plane that I want. And they never change (no matter which axes I use). As in, X plane yields 'set A' in the Z-direction. Y plane yields 'Set A' in the Z-direction, and Z plane also yields 'Set A' in the Z-direction.

2. Normal to screen works 50% of the time. Now it's not working.

3. defining a plane with the N1, N2, N3 and a Base point also yields the exact same results as the whole X, Y, Z plane fiasco.

Can anyone help me resolve this?
