Stress Tensor Components GPSTRESS

Hi all,

I'm trying to get as an output the Stress Tensor Components (Grid Point Stresses) on the nodes of my structure.

For that I have defined on my control cards:

Global Output Request - GPSTRESS

Format - PUNCH

I'm using Optistruct as my solver.

The problem is that I just get an output(.pch) file with only Grid Point Displacements (Nodal displacements) not Grid Point Stresses.

From the Altair OptiStruct Reference Guide p.2415 I read that could be possible.

As I missing some step? Could you please help me?

Which version of HWDesktop and solver you are using?GPSTRESS is available only for solid elements.PFA online help from solvers 2018.0.1

Hi Rahul,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I'm using HW 2018.

Problem is I'm trying to extract this from a model witch contains 1D/ 2D elements together with solids.

Is there a workaround for this? Any different output file that can provide me the stress tensors ( XX, YY, ZZ, XY, YZ, ZX) on the nodes?

I'll be grateful for any help you can provide.

What type of structural analysis you are running at your end? You can refer attached document from online help.
