MotionSolve or Hyperworks?
Hello and thanks for accepting me. I'm a undergraduate student of university of west Attica and now i'm working on my thesis. My thesis is about vehicle dynamics and more specifically, it has to do with motorcycle dynamics. I want to do a dynamic analysis with a simulation. The dynamic analysis concludes the front system of the motorcycle (front suspension, front brakes, front tire ), when the motorcycle is perfoming a turn and when the motorcycle is perfoming a turn with the front brake applied. My question is ,which program is the one for my situation? motionsolve? or hyperworks? or some other program? I hope you can help me because my university does not provide me useful content for my work and i'm a bit confused with altair because its the first time i'm using it. Thanks for your time!.

Hi Kostas,
Welcome to the forum! Prior to 2023, HyperWorks was the naming convention used for the suite of products which included HyperMesh, HyperView, HyperGraph, MotionView, and MediaView. These products are used for preprocessing or postprocessing simulations.
Preprocessing:
- HyperMesh
- MotionView
Postprocessing:
- HyperView
- HyperGraph
- MediaView
New for 2023, the product suite has been renamed to HyperMesh.
Within this product suite, you will build your multibody dynamics (MBD) model using MotionView. It features numerous Vehicle Tools, which provides templates for vehicles and standard events. By default, the Altair Driver Model will take control of the vehicle and complete the applied event, so you are not required to deploy your own driver controller. MotionSolve is the solver for our MBD products and what is used to predict the performance of your motorcycle model. Results are then viewed as animations using HyperView or in plots using HyperGraph. Standard Reports can be created based on the event that you have chosen which will plot all of the necessary outputs that you would need to observe the motorcycle's performance through that event.
Here is an example below, where the default motorcycle model is created to complete a standard braking in turn event all using MotionView. The results are then visualized using HyperView (left) and plotted using HyperGraph (right). This example did not require the manual creation of any entities, so it allows you to run simulations without experience and 'straight out of the box'.
From here, you can choose to modify the default motorcycle model or assemble a new vehicle using the Assembly Wizard. It features predefined subsystems that you can choose from that may better replicate the configuration you hope to model. As well, you can always create complete models from scratch if desired.
We currently have 2 eLearning courses available to help with getting familiar with MotionView as well as the Vehicle Tools Extension. They can easily be found on our eLearning hub or at the following links:

Hope this helps!

Hello Kostas
Adding to what Adam mentioned, if you are looking for what to install, you need the following
1. HyperWorks product installer - This is a master installer that looks for other installers in the folder and installs them in one go.
2. HwDesktop - This installer installs the Hyperworks GUI products and includes MotionView.
3. HwSolvers - This installer installs the HyperWorks solvers and includes MotionSolve.
At www.altairone.com/marketplace, search for
1. MotionView and download the Desktop installer and the HyperWorks Product installer
2. Search for MotionSolve and download the Mechanical Solvers installer.
Once you have these 3 installers, execute the HyperWorks product installer to install both desktop and solvers. Follow the instruction in the installer.
Hope this helps.
