Out of bound Stress levels in torsion load case - Steel Plastic hybrid component

Hello Experts,

I am currently trying to simulate Torsional load case of a simple Hybrid U-Profle Steel-FPR structure. Here I am facing problem where i am getting very high stresses in my component.

I use N, mm, tonne as unit system and on giving a 1000Nm Torque the stress in the steel reaches very high unrealistic values. Alsp the component behaviour is also quite strange as it hardly makes any displacement at such forces. However in testing, the component reaches a torque angle of more than 50° and fails.

Can anyone have a look into my model and tell me what i am doing wrong.

Thanks and Regards

    Hello Sharath,

    I can suggest two things.

    1. Try enforced displacement (SPC, rotation) instead of MOMENT, and extract the resultant force (spcforce).

    2. Run in large displacement to see if the rotations ar too large.

I hope that the results of these 2 (3 if you combine)) tests will shed some light.
