Advantages of Constraints over Rigid Link as Elements

Each are different entities for different applications. 
For instance the SPC (single point constraint), can constrain the degrees of freedom (dofs) of a single node.

Where as an RBE2 links the dofs of an independent node to the dependent node(s)

I am happy to introduce you the constraints, new entity from Hyperworks 2022 in Abaqus interface.

 Node-based surface couplings (COUP_KIN Elements ) in Hyperworks 2021 are now recognised as new entity called constraints, while the Kincoup are still recognised as elements.

They are not boundary conditions.

But I wish to understand the advantages of the constraints entity over the elements.

I would say that is more of a question for Abaqus Support. We have just updated our entities to more closely match how they are in the solver.
