How can I check initial penetration/gap of a contact group in HyperWorks when using the OptiStruct interface?

I'm trying to use the ADJUST or CLEARANCE options on a contact group to close an initial gap but the Penetration tool doesn't appear to take those settings into account when it measures for penetration. Is there another tool in HyperWorks that I can be using rather than sending the model to the solver?

Hello Josh,

On HyperWorks you can use control+F and write penetrations. Pick the first option (panels>penetrations).

You can use CONTPRM, PREPRT, YES. => Prints initial contact conditions (except for MPC-based TIE) into an ASCII data file. The file name is: <filename>.cpr. For more information, refer to .cpr file.
You can run using CHECK option (instead of ANALYS) and this file will be written.
