height profile of powder bed

Hello, I am wanting to see if there is a way for me to measure the height profile across this powder bed using the grid bins. Is there a way for me to do this in EDEM? I have attached an image below. I specifically want to measure the height variations across the length of the powder bed as a set of data points

Off the top of my head I'd probably start with EDEMpy to export the positions and use Python from there, interpolating between points in max Z (or whatever your vertical axis is), making it as simple or as complex as you like.

If you had a lot of grid bins, then you could maybe look at the filled and unfilled grid bins, but I think it would be a headache compared to a Python approach.
