    Hi Teja,

Is there a reason for using stick contact type?

    Please share the .out file

    Hi Teja,

You are running a large displacement analysis which is not supported for gasket elements.

Also, looks like there are some modeling issues. Please check contacts, loads, units and any modeling errors.

    Hi,Administrator:
I'm a new beginner of using Hyperworks for analysis the Clips.
    The sub-case is quite simple:
Here I got two parts in my simulation which i named them clip and bracket.
I fix the bottom of the bracket and apply the force on the top of clip by a rigid element. After all settings, when i launch the optistruct , it calculation for few minutes, then comes the

    *** ERROR # 4965 ***
Maximum number of time increment cutbacks reached,

    analysis aborted.

I already searched all the internet for a answer but only find your topic.
So could you give me a help?
Enclosed are the .out and .fem files of my problem.
    I'm looking for your reply.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Can you run Large displacement analysis instead and check if that progresses till the end?

    Hi,there:

    Thank you for your support.

I already modified the setting and launch the calculation, but the error is :

    *** ERROR # 4966 ***
     Minimum time increment reached,
     analysis aborted.
I  have no idea how to deal with this error, i tried many tines.

So, I come back for your help again.

BTW , this time i change the material to nonlinear material with in TABLES1 ,and I am not sure I used them correctly.

    Hi @JasonJiang

I see you have NLADAPT with some parameters. I think this is what causing the problem.

I am running the same without NLADAPT and the analysis is half done (50% loaded). I will update if the analysis is through all errors.

    Hi,

The analysis is through without any errors and converged. Please remove the NLADAPT and try again.

    @Prakash Pagadala

    Thank you again.

Yes, you are right.I get the result after remove the NLADAPT .But  i find there has some elements penetrate each other, especially in contact area.

BTW, Why are we remove NLADAPT? If we don't use the NLADAPT option, does it mean that the load is directly increased without changing with time increments?

(NLADAPT – Parameters for Nonlinear Analysis to define time-stepping and convergence criteria  )

Enclosed is the animation view of the result for you quick check.

    Hi @JasonJiang

Can you change the stiffness parameter to HARD on PCONT card and check if that helps?

By enforcing min and max increment, solver couldn't find a solution. So I removed it and let solver choose automatically.

    Hi,

    Could someone explain what does
