How to set Temperature as load in Thermal Analysis?
Hello Friends,
I want to perform a basic thermal analysis in Hyperworks: Assume we have a cube with fixed temperature on two side of it, run analysis and get temperature distribution within the cube. The question is How can I add Temperature as load?
I am aware that I can use heat convection or heat flux, but I want to use temperature as load.

Hi,
You can apply temperature using temperature panel in Analysis page.
Assuming you are trying to run a linear static analysis with temperature as load, here is what you have to do:
1) Create a loadstep with Linear static as type
2) Add SPCs if you have any but leave load blank
3) Click EDIT if you are using Loadstep panel or scroll down in Entity editor to find TEMP_LOAD
4) Check this and add the temperature load here.
See the attached image for more information

Hi,
Use Temp(loadcol). Reference temperature load collector here and please let me know the results

I tried that, but it does not work as well. It does not show Thermal distribution within the component. it is just stress analysis.

I attached the simple model I am talking about. Can you tell me where is the problem?
Thanks

Hi @Pouyan
Please find the modified deck.
One side of the box has 80 temperature and the other is 40.
Use SPC and card edit the spc and enter temperature value in the field D

Could you please let us know the problem you are facing? We don't have the backup of shared hm file.

Hi Rahul,
what is TREF in MAT1 card.
I am simulating exhaust manifold and having temperature distribution over all nodes.
I have run the linear static analysis but stresses are very very high >500MPa.
When I am useing Tref =400 deg C, then stresses are low.
My average temp over exhaust manifold nodes is 500deg C.
Please comment.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Dheeraj

i, i have question for you
in the fem content, wht can't use "temp" control card?
what is the between "spc" and "temp" different
do you have "temp" control card example fem
thanks, a lot!
