How can I define a composite SANDWICH panel in RADIOSS?

Hello,

I am trying to simulate a composite crash structure in radioss.

This is my first project in RADIOSS and so I am not well versed.

Initially, I was looking into the monolithic structure and so I used M25_COMPSH for material definition and P17_STACK as property for my component (Laminate STACK and ply P19_PLY). I was successfully able to simulate this.

Later I wanted to run the same analysis as a Sandwich panel. I defined a honeycomb using the M28_HONEYCOMB material law. But I do not understand how I can integrate the honeycomb into the stack.

I also tried to study P11_SANDW as an alternative property but again I failed to understand how to integrate it into the model.

Some guidance with this will be really helpful.

Thank you.

    Hi

One way is to model the honeycomb as solid mesh, and create the shell mesh on the face of the honeycomb you want to cover with the composite plies

    I hope this is helpful
