Error 1458

Hey everyone, I´m working on a model, which I imported as a CAD file, created the middle surfaces and now I wanted to run Optistruct to see the applying forces. But I always get the following error:

*** ERROR # 1458 *** in the input data:
One of following cards must be used in this subcase:
METHOD(STRUCTURE), METHOD(FLUID).

Can someone explain, where to change this setting?

can you check what analyhsis type is defined into your loadstep?

Usually these cards are needed for 'normal modes' analysis (modal analysis).

You should probably change the analysis type to 'linear static'.

Then use SPC for your model contraints and LOAD for selecting your forces.

But now I get another error:

Hi @Manuel

This error is showing your have missed the property assignement into your mesh. PID stands for Property ID. Go to your component and add the property into your component.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with HyperMesh and OptiStruct, so i would suggest you to take the online training courses in Altair University to get more familiar with it too. I believe it would be helpful for you.
