Optistruct solver deck backwards compatibility from HM 2021 to HM 2019
Hello,
I'd like to ask you, is there a way to export a solver deck of a optistruct model made in HM2021.1 so I can open it in HM2019?

when you export the solver deck, you will generate a .fem file which is basically a text file. (differently from the .hm file which is binary and not backward compatible).
You can import this .fem file in your HM2019.
It should be almost 100% compatible with 2019, except by new cards/features that naturally won't be recognized by HM2019. But the basic model should be read with no problems.

I've already received an answer from support. The solver decks are not compatible. In their own words:
This is intentional as part of element ID pool support for OptiStruct/Nastran interfaces in v2021.1. (Please refer the image)
In latest HM, we have replaced legacy HM Move comments with modern comments blocks which takes into account of element ID pools for component organization. So, latest version HM comments will not be compatible with older version.
Workaround May help w.r.t use case
1. Try to importing in 2019/2017 using "By Property" option under "Create Comps"
2.Try HMASCII export/import for this specific use case
Try the above workaround and update me on the status.
But Our development team has added this feature again in 2021.2.1-hotfix and can be activated at the time of export.(pls refer image)
this is will resolves the compatibility issue.There is workaround available which would let me keep the model with its component names and colors. Only solution is to get the 2021.2.1.

thanks for the reply. Yes, he correct in a way that the model can be opened and it's going to work.
But as I said, you'll lose all the components', materials', properties' names + colors assigned to the components. That's not acceptable in my case.
