THIN - control card, example/meaning

Hello everybody,

could someone give me an example where can we use the "THIN"-control card in "Global_output_request" and what is the purpose of it?

I can not find any details about it. The explanation in the help documentation is unsufficient.

THIN

I/O Options and Subcase Information EntryThe THIN command can be used in the I/O Options or Subcase Information sections to request thinning and thickness output for all geometric nonlinear analysis subcases or individual geometric nonlinear analysis subcases, respectively.

THIN is only applicable for geometric nonlinear analysis subcases which are defined by an ANALYSIS = NLGEOM subcase entry.

Thin stands for 'thinning' in NLGEOM loadcases. In the old days, NLGEOM loadcases use to onvert the OS model to Radioss, internally, and solve the problem in Radioss, which used to calculate these results.

These results take into account thickness changes along the simulation due to streching of the material.

I'm not quite sure if there's an equivalent for regular NLSTAT cases.
