Contact definition between shell edge and a shell surface (T-junction)

Hello everyone,

I am relatively new in HyperMesh and I am struggling with the contact definition between the edge (line) and surface.

In my case it is a shell edge connected to a shell surface (like a T-junction).

Could anyone help me with this definition?

Thank you in advance.

BR,

Mario

It depends a little bit on what is your solver.

If it is OptiStruct you will need to create a Node2Surface contact.

As your master surface, you will create/use a contact surface for your plate.

As your slave group, you will need a SET of nodes, selecting the nodes on the edge of your line.

    Hi Adriano,

I created a master surface (contact surface, not a set) and I created a set (set of nodes).

I created an interface for a TIE contact, I selected the DISCRET-N2S.

    Nothing, still not working.

I am getting message:  *** ERROR # 1728 *** in the input data:
     Incorrect SET definition.

Master as contact surface is ok!

What type of SET have you created for the slave set?

Is it a SET_GRID? It seems like something is wrong with your SET.

    Can you confirm?

Can you share your .out or your .fem file?
