Velocity distortions in solid volumes

There is a reference frame from the rotor boundary to half the distance of the air gap present between stator and rotor signifying rotation of rotor at 524 rad/s

I have attached a post image of velocity contour. It appears to be velocity occurring inside the solid rotor near the boundary in a distortedly form.

Would be really helpful to know what might have caused this.

Would it be possible to show the scale of velocity here?

As a general best practice, it is good to have one boundary layer element (prism) on each side of such interfaces (Especially it if it going to be sliding mesh later on).

Its a steady state simulation and the thickness of the airgap is 0.7mm.

I would guess it's mostly just visualization. The fluid and solid share the same boundary nodes - so you'll see some contour back to zero in the internal solid nodes.

Without knowing the full details - that would be my guess. Just curious - is there a reason you have the actual solid parts meshed in the model? Are you also doing heat transfer?

Yes its a thermal analysis of a motor.
