Topology Optimization with draw constraints

Hi,

I'm doing a topology optimization, and i have also put a draw constraint in the design variable.

In the selection box about the type of draw there are 3 options: single, split or radial.

The reference guide talks also about some other options, called SPLIT2 and SPLIT3, but i can't find them in Hypermesh, neither i know what they do.

Does anyone know about these options?

Thank you

    Hello Giovanni,

Please find the explanation for SPLIT option below.

The option SPLIT implies that two dies splitting apart in the given draw direction will be used to cast the part described in this DTPL card.

The splitting surface of the two dies is optimized during the optimization process.

SPLIT2/3 is only needed if SPLIT fails to generate a cast able design.

You can enable this option SPLIT2/3 by editing the SPLIT option directly in the *.fem file. They use a larger area to define the split plane.

It is not yet available in the HM interface.
