How to lock Z dof

If we want to lock the Z axis dof how do we know of dof 1,dof2,dof 3 which is x , y , z is it dof 1 =x , dof 2=y like that

    Yes,

    x translation = dof1

    y translation = dof2

    z translation = dof3

    x rotation = dof4

    y rotation = dof5

    z rotation = dof6
