How to use a .sta file? RADIOSS

Hi! 

I want to use file.sta to have initial stress and strain for subsequent analysis. the model is made up of SHELL elements.

First step: activate these cards

STATE/DT , STATE/SHELL/STRAIN/FULL , STATE/SHELL/STRESS/FULL

Now i have the .sta file but how can i import in the next model? I thought to use Import Solver Deck, is it correct?

iam also performing sequential drop test simulation. can you help me in the setup for sequential drop. I have used state card but the contacts are not exported.

state files carry only stress/strain and thickness to another model.

All the other you should build a new model, by keeping the IDs only.

 

In you case you're probably looking for restarting your analysis from a previous one. Take a look at 'restart' in Radioss documentation.
