Hi,

I'd like to develop two-phase flow simulation using BFECC and levelset method. however, I've tried to read the manuals of AcuSolve but I could not get if this is the conservative levelset (CLS) or this is conventional levelset (LS) interface capturing technique ?

Regards.

AcuSolve uses the Conventional Levelset approach.

does this mean the momentum and kinetic-energy conservation is not supported ?

I've used the LS with BFECC to simulate the slug flow mode, and I got a good results. but does this mean I'd get different results if I've used another software which might support VOF or CLS ?

BFECC, coupled with proprietary methods to get a formulation that guarantees excellent conservation properties, is the way to get the best conservation in AcuSolve for a given stepsize.

Momentum and kinetic-energy conservation is supported as for any other AcuSolve simulation. For levelset multiphase flows, it does hinge on mass conservation of the levelset formulation and BFECC will yield the best results for that.

As with most models (multi-phase, turbulence, etc), one may or may not have different results with another numerical approach. Some of them may have specific requirements to yield good mass conservation, like the need for a kind of Cartesian mesh, or may have side drawbacks, like having very stiff systems to solve. Only comparison to experiments would be give you a definite answer. And even then, experiments typically have an error band as well.

noted on your respond and thanks for the clarification. is there by any chance a manual/guideline/reference that stipulate those governing equations for the BFECC and LS for AcuSolve ?

The attached paper would be similar to what is being done in AcuSolve.
