The animation file h3d has not been found

Hello,

i have issues "running" my model in MotionView. It seems that it does not create the h3d file (although this is checked under Output Settings). Trying to Animate it I get the message "The animation file xxx.h3d has not been found. It was not generated or has been removed"

The Log says only:

*** Begin sending off data
 Reading API version string [2021.0]...
 Writing model to [D:\\Test_3.xml]...
*** End sending off data

I guess my MotionSolver is not appropriately installed. Trying to open the linkage "MotionSolve SubRoutine Builder 2021" it says "An installation of Visual Studio was not found on your System!". Could that be the issue?

Also I installed all Altair Products on Drive D while Visual Studio is oviously installed on Drive C. But this should not have any effect.

Is there a way to check if the MotionSolve SubRoutine is properly connected to MotionView?

Any help highly appricated. Best regards,

Mrage

The first thing I would check is that the HyperWorks solvers have been installed properly.

If you go to the top level menu Help -> Updates and System Information,  a window will open that shows what has been installed.  Look for something called hwSolvers2021 (or hwSolversXXX depending on your version).  If you don't see that, you didn't install any solvers.

When you install HyperWorks, use the hw_xxxxx installer, this will guide you through installing all of the required packages.  A common mistake is to install hw_desktop, which does not include solvers, just the pre- and post-processors.

Once you can get a simple model to solve and animate (without using usersubroutines), then you can start to focus on whether or not Visual Studio is installed properly.

    Hello,

    Thanks

don't install hw from hw_desktop.exe.  It does not contain any solvers.

When you download the complete software package, there is a main installer file, it will be called something like hw2021_win64.exe   This is the file you want to launch, and it will install everything based on what you have downloaded.  This means you will also make sure you have downloaded hwSolvers2021_win64.exe.  But again do not install these individually. use the main installer (hw2021_win64.exe)

    Hi Chris,
    I've the same problem.

What do you mean "without using subroutines"? What is Visual Studio?

    Thank you so much.
