Type 2 Interface Problems

Hi,

i'm working on a composite nose cone and have a problem concerning my type2 Contact between the Impact Attenuator and the backing plate. In the crash, the backing plate loses the contact with the impact attenuator so the impact attenuator loses its velocity. Can you figure out the Problem in the Model attached? I'll also attach the results so you can see what i mean

Thanks in advance!

    Hi

It seems that your back plate is far from the attenuator part, if looking at the parts thicknesses.

you could try use Ignore=3 and run.

Also as if all the edge nodes of the attenuator have to be tied to a rigid back plate, you could add these nodes to the rigid /RBODY of the back plate, instead using tied contact.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Regards
