Material Property Optimization

Hello,

I'm starting to work with optistruct and would like to include the optimization of the stiffness modulus (E modulus) in my model. Running an optimization where the material orientation of a composite structure is specified as a design variable (DESVAR) is straight forward, but is it also possible to specify a design variable for the E1 and E2 values when trying to maximize the normal modes of a structure?

Please use DESVAR and DVMREL1/2 cards to define the material property as the design variables. DVMREL1/2 are not available in HyperMesh GUI. So you need to manually add/edit the card in your .fem file. You can find more information by searching DVMREL1 or DVMREL2 in online help.
