XFEM and crack propagation

Hi community!

Is anybody here familiar with the XFEM failure keywords? Has anybody used any before? I am trying to incorporate them into my models and i am getting the following strange error:

XFEM FOR LAYERED SHELL

+=============================================================+

ERROR ID : 760

** ERROR TRAPPED'

Any ideas? The material law and properties i use are supposed to be compatible with XFEM. To be more specific, i am trying to incorporate XFEM_FLD but i think its the same with all three.

It turns out that there are limitations on the application of XFEM keywords, the violation of which will give the error described above.

Those limitations are the following:

• Property type 1 or 11
  
• Number of integration points through the thickness is limited to 2 (denoted as 'N' in the property cards)
