    Hi Kartik,

I think somewhere you are making a mistake while selecting the nodes for defining the spring.

Please see the attached video showing the spring definition (recorded using a screen capture tool, .swf format which plays in GOM player).

    Hi George P Johnson,

I have a question instead of the whole procedure.

Is it OK to create the rope using 1D beam elements and the pulley using 3D tetra mesh and then solving the problem

    yours sincerely,

    kartik kanugo

    Hi

I have modeled the structure using 3D pulley and a 1D rope.

I have given a general contact problem for the rope and pulley element.

Also i have given initial velocity  BC for the rope.

I have no errors but i am not getting suitable results. Can you tell me what the problem is.

    yours sincerely,

    kartik kanugo
