    Hi Leslie,

what do you mean by line load?

Do you want to distribute the load on a truss member/bar member?

if that is the case you can directly apply the load on the nodes. Make sure that the load on each node= total load/number of nodes of the truss member.

for example, 100 node line load and 10,000 node line load are same for the same bar or the same beam?

    If I have understood correctly,

You have same bar with same dimensions and same properties but with different element sizes.

Say for example you have bar with 100 nodes and want to apply 100 N force on the bar, then load on each node will be Force/Number nodes which is 1N on each node.

if same load has to be applied on 10,000 nodes then load on each node is 100/10000 which is equal to 0.01N on each node.
