Hi experts,

I am looking for efficient hexahedral meshing in altair products for cfd. I tried hypermesh for this purpose. It works well for structural problems but when i try to import for cfd in hyperworks cfd, it has many issues.

Is there any way that I can do efficient hex meshing for complex geometry in altair products (may be simlab or any other) for CFD purpose. I found that the hex meshing in hyperworks cfd is very difficult.

Which solver are you targeting?  If AcuSolve, there is no benefit to hex meshes - especially given the difficulty to get a hex mesh for most general applications.

What are the issues you reference when importing a mesh from HyperMesh to HyperWorks CFD?  What format did you export/import?  (Importing the HyperMesh .hm file to HyperWorks CFD would typically give difficulty as the database structures are different.) You may try exporting a Nastran format mesh, and importing that.

Again - no benefit to a hex mesh in AcuSolve.
