Parameters equivalence with Nastran

Hi,

I am trying to run a buckling analysis with Optistruct in order to compare the results with Nastran.

There are 2 Nastran's parameters that I can't find in Optistruct :

PARAM    K6ROT  1

PARAM   SNORM   1.000000

Are these implemented in Optistruct ?

Thanks,

Ludov

    Hi,

You don't need to invoke rotational degree of freedom for shell element in Optistruct solver.I would count this as a plus point in Optistruct.

Please check Optistruct user guide for these two query.even Optistruct faq talk about k6rota.

As mentioned above you don't need to call k6rota card like Nastran in Optistruct solver.

    Hi,

I am still trying to understand differences between Optistruct and Nastran.

I am working with Nastran's tapered beams and when I run an analysis with Optistruct I have Warnings 1101 in the .out file.

And when I compare the results between Nastran and Optistruct, they are completely different.

Can Optistruct support these beams as nastran does ?

Yes in Optistruct we do have tapered beam.See attached screenshot.

    HELLO,

when converting the (.nas) file and (.fem ) file into hypermesh there was a problem in the optimization card, that of the varriable. Can anybody help me to understand Where does this problem come from? and how can I solve it?

    Regards,

    Hi Hajar,

Not all paramters may get converted or all parameters/cards are supported.

Please create missing parameters in OptiStruct and try again.

    @Prakash Pagadala

    Hello
if i want to use functions of hypermesh in a script made by myself (example: apply the function: import solver deck) which allows me to display the window to choose the command file then import it.
if anyone can help me I would be very grateful.
    thank you in advance.
