acuSolve lincese usage

Hi all,

I am trying to carry out DOE for a number acusolve simulations. When i try to run 40 acusolve simulations all at the same time, I get license error in the log file. I found this link to check license usage.

https://2021.help.altair.com/2021/hwsolvers/acusolve/topics/acusolve/license_manager_programs_acuimg.htm

But, it does give license usage info.

acuLmd: *** ASSERTION in Function <sysRealPath> File <sysCwd.c> Line <88>
acuLmd: *** Error in realpath </home/prp20007/2022.2/altair/hwcfdsolvers/acusolve/linux64/license.dat>; No such file or directory

The license I use is on the remote server of the university. Is it possible to view the license usage info from the local machine.

Thanks and regards.

Assuming you have access to the information from the license server, you should be able to use the Altair License Utility - putting in the hostname or IP Address in the 'Host' entry in the License Usage tab, then hit 'Enter'

    Windows:
    Start > Altair <version> > Altair License Utility <version>

    Linux:
    Navigate to //Altair Home/security/bin/linux64/gui and execute almutil_gui
Example - based on your path above, almutil_gui is likely in /home/prp20007/2022.2/altair/security/bin/linux64/gui

Thank you, it worked. But, how can I determine how many maximum simulations I can run at a time based on the license status? And, how many licenses are used when i run 1 acusolve simulation?

If you are using Educational license, your University contact may need to touch base with their contact at Altair for these questions.

Can you attach the Log file where it indicated a license problem?

I will update this thread as soon as I get the error again.

    This is probably the issue:

[NETWORK] (hidden for security reasons) - (Err: 17) Request for more licenses than available on license server

Looks like you don't have enough units to run everything at the same time.

Just a quick question again, is there any way I can exactly determine how many simulations can i run merely based on the procedure you explained earlier?

Generally the license/unit checkout depends on how many cores per job are used - but it may be different for EDU licenses.

    This describes the unit draw:
