Hi Guys,

I have been trying to analyze (static linear) the effect of pressure on an assembly of 2 disks. They are of different materials. The bottom surface of the bottom disk is fixed and pressure is applied on the whole top surface of the top disk. I have tried using freeze contact and also tie but I am only getting stresses on the top disk in the results in both cases. The deformation seems weird because the top disk deforms through the inside of the bottom disk and I get an ice-cream cone like shape. ( I did refer to RD-2100 tutorial for solids in contact)

I would really appreciate any help with this. I am a new HW user.

Thanks!

    Hello,

The discs are modeled as volume (solids) or surfaces (shells)? Is there a hole in the bottom disk?

Works the contact right? Is the result still 'linear'? (small displacements, small strains)

Please attach a picture... or the *.hm file.

    Regards,

    Mario

Thanks Mario for replying. The disks don't have any holes in them. I have attached a picture cause I couldn't attach the hm file. Hope this clarifies the problem better.
