Hello!

I have created a simple 2D-mesh and wanted to export it to fluent. During exporting i get this error:

'The total number of elements is 236632m whereas the

total number of (tetra4 pyramid5 penta6 hex8) elements is 0,

and the total number of (tria3 quad4) elemnts is 0, their sum is 0.

There are 236632 elements that are not supported. For 3D model

the only type of elements supported are tria3 quad4 tetra4 pyramid5 penta6 hex8.

Quitting'

Result: Hypermesh doesn`t export the mesh.

Under 'Export options' 2D Model is enabled!

Thank you very much for any help!

    Hi,

When you are trying to export 2D mesh, make sure 2D Model radio button is active under export options and also make sure only 2D elements are displayed.

    Hello!

    Thank you for replying!

2D Model radio button is active! And I didn`t create any 3D-Elements... or can it be that 3D elements are automatically created?

    Hello Prakash!

Thank you for your offer to help and excuse me for not answering! I went over to ICEM CFD and therefore didn`t check this Forum anymore.

Nevertheless I will send the .hm file to you (probably next week) . And when the problem is solved I would try again with Hypermesh...

    Hi Andreas,

Can you change the order of the elements?

I can see that your model has few 2nd order elements. Change them 1st order and try again.

    Hello Prakash!

    Thank you for your advice!

I tried it. Now I get the error message: ' A segmentation error ocurred'.

The error message regarding the 2D- and 3D-elements doesn`t appear anymore...

Delete the following three files from HyperWorks working directory.

     > hmmenu.set,

     > hmsettings.tcl and

     > command.cmf.

Please close all sessions of HyperWorks before deleting these files & try again.

    Regards
