Hello Friends,

As Optimization Inputs in my DESING Variables, the displacement for new shape Change, I want to calculate new Center of Gravity? How can I get in accordance to my Design variable new CG?

Make sure I am changing elements which is hollow section.

I have defined around 24 shapes and design variable.

Thank you

    Hi Nayak,

There are two ways to get CoG:

    1) Using HyperMesh: Go to Post>> Summary>> Load Cntr_of_Gravity Template and click summary which displays summary of Ctr of gravity for the model.

    2) Using MotionView: Save the file as .hm file, Open MotionView>> Import the .hm file and you can see CG for individual components if you have an assembly.

That I know, but I Need to know after changing my shape. That means after Optimization. I have given 10 mm horizontal displacement, 10 mm verticle like 24 shapes defined, so Can I see the CG for those updated shapes?

    Nayak,

You need to run the same procedure after changes to get the CoG for the new model...

    I have two questions......

How can I take my Optimized Geometry after changing the Old geometry in my model?

and Do I can see with every Iteration what is my new Area of my Optimized Geometry? What happen if I take Volume as a Response?

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Jay

    @Nayak

How can I take my Optimized Geometry after changing the Old geometry in my model?

You want to export the optimized geometry correct?

You can use OSSmooth to export geometry https://connect.altair.com/CP/SA/training/self_paced/optimization/content/opt6/6_4.htm

    http://www.altairuniversity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/1075.pdf

OptiStruct uses the response you provided and optimizes the model based on your responses for given loads and boundary conditions.

Thank you Prakash, Actually If I Change my geometry with the help of Shape Optimization then of course my area also becomes Change, so with every Iteration I got new Geometry or new Shape. And I Need to find area of new shape. Because those Sizes and shape directly related to Heat Transfer Coefficient that I have to calculate again. I hope you can understand. And If you can know any function which I can put in the Loop it self which gives me Area every time with new Iteration so I can easily calculate Heat Transfer Coefficinet.

    Thank you.

    Hello Prakash,

Can you tell me How can I use DVMREL1 Card in which I can edit Heat Transfer Coefficient value 'h' and I can attached to Design Varible. But do you have any Example?

    Nayak,

You can create a DVMREL card using size panel in optimization page. We don't have an example but OptiStruct help has details about the same.
