Hello sir,

I do want to know how to add mass to a rbe2 rigid using admas in radioss? What are the significance of the elements M,M-ADV0,M-ADV1,SPHCEL?

    Hi Ayush,

You can directly add mass on to the rigid body. Go to Utility tab>Rbody Manager>Select the rigid body>Card Edit and there is an option available to add mass to the rigid body.

Using ADMAS user can add mass to nodes or a group of nodes.  For M-ADV0, the mass value will be added to each node in the set. Whereas, in M-ADV-1, it divides the mass value evenly among all of the nodes in the set.

SPHCEL describes the SPH (Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics) cells. It is a kind of modelling approach where it is a mesh free method and there is no physical contact between the particles. Smoothed particle hydrodynamics is a remarkably versatile and simple approach for numerical fluid dynamics. Typical example is bird strike analysis where bird is modelled using SPH method.

You can see a similar kind of simulation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vPci1PM2nI

Is there any example about add mass for solving drop impact simulations?

    Hi Roy,

There are no examples available now related to ADMAS with drop simulations. You can refer Example 12 - Jumping Bicycle from Help Menu where ADMAS option is used.

Also refer RD-3597: Cell Phone Drop Test using HyperMesh tutorial which is a typical drop simulation.
