Hello all,

Is modelling of a viscoelastic material based on prony series possible in RADIOSS? I am trying to simulate a nano indentation process.

    Hi Sandesh,

/MAT/LAW42  is mostly used for visco-hyperelastic materials in Radioss. This keyword defines a hyperelastic, viscous, and incompressible material specified using the Ogden, Mooney-Rivlin material models. Defined by strain rate function and rate effects are modeled by Prony series. Please review Example 42 in the Help Menu where the material modeling is done using /MAT/LAW42.

Another option is by using /VISC/PRONY card. This model is the Prony series Maxwell mode that generates an additional deviatoric stress tensor, and the viscous pressure is given by the bulk modulus of visco-elastic model. Please see the Help Menu for material compatibility for this card.
