How to define a contact between edge to surface? I tried using CONTACT with sliding but somehow it is not working.

Thanks for sharing files.I see you have not defined NLPARM card. Just define NLPARM card with Ninc & max iteraion with default setting. Set loadstep to NLSTAT & run analysis.

Thanks a lot for the help Rahul. It is now a little better to proceed with my analysis. However, I have one more doubt. For large displacement what parameters do I have to play with when using NLPARM card? I mean that I want to rotate the shaft by almost 180 degrees. I tried giving high rotation velocity but that doesn't help.

i try to solve issue edge to surface contact too, but my task is on shell mesh.
