Applied Optimization methods to optistruc

This is Mohammad Ali Haghnejat and I’m master student at IUST in Automotive engineering.
 
I have read a paper and that give me a good idea for my Thesis .I am new to optimization Topic and software and i need help please if you could help me in this.
 
I have a complex model in heperwork and now i want to optimize it in different way such as numerical and heuristic methods.
 
As i know i need a function to do it, but i can’t export function from my model to apply different optimization methods and i know this is not the way.
 
Is there any way I can do it, what is your suggestion?

    Could you explain more about your project and what ways are you using to optimize?

     

    Also, please let us know the objective of your design and the constraints.

    I have vehicle model which is  draw in catia and then i mesh it in hypermesh.

    The model is simplified using 3B and ABSC and all beams are thin wall.

    • Objective function is to reduce weight therefor i want to minimize the cross section element such as width and thickness.
    • Constrains are stiffness and natural frequency.

    I have 500 beam and each beam have 3 parameters to optimize, therefor this is large scale optimization.

     

    I was thinking to apply different numerical and  heuristic  optimization methods (such as  Differential evolution or  Particle swarm optimization ...)  and find new shape and time benchmark to optimize model.

    this can help me on the way that i want?

     i want to formulate it by software , and as result  i have function to work with and find my optimize variables and after i find the optimize value replace it with original value and see the result.
