Contact Type2 issue
Hi,
I have the issue that contact type 2 in my model sometimes does not work. It used to work, but now I added an additional force and now one part just moves thru the other. What is the problem?
(Images are attached to see the issue)
Thanks, Best
Jonas

Hi George,
Sorry, for the delay. Was one week off the office. I will try it out today and let you know if it works!
What did you change?

Hi George,
Thanks is worked and it recognized the contact. What did you change in the parameters?
However, there is an issue. The deformation becomes really jagged instead of expanding towards the side and bulging. It seems to not properly recognize all the points as contacts. What is the problem with that? (see the images)
Thanks, Best

Hi Jonas,
This seems to be a material issue. Please recheck the material parameters.
I just tried with different parameters and the same .h3d file is attached for your reference.

Hi Geroge,
Could you please upload the hm file with the changed parameters if possible? I actually took the values from literature. But there might be something wrong.

Hi Jonas,
Sorry that I can't share that file since the material values are confidential.
Please recheck the material parameters. Also , you can try with /MAT/LAW70.

Hi George,
No problem. Could you tell me what parameters you changed? I played around with the mue values but the issue still appears. I took the values from a publication that provided C1 and C2 values for mooney rivlin material in LSdyna. If I understood correctly from the 'RADIOSS THEORY MANUAL Version 2017 – January 2017 Large Displacement Finite Element Analysis PART 2' on page 8 I only have to multiply these values with 2 and -2 respectively to get the mue values for Radioss. Right?
Thanks, J

Hi Jonas,
I varied some parameters in the file and uploading the same for your reference.
Any unclear data provided during material characterization will lead to uncertain results. So user should have all these correct inputs.
As suggested before you can also try with other visco elastic material cards.
