Hello,

Following recent practice we have been able to model metal parts using the thin conducting sheet regions and couple with circuit components. However, the last step in the physics check always gives us an error message: cannot determine formulation, as shown in the attached picture.

The error message provide no further clues to us how to fix it, and we believe there must be something beyond that we don’t know.

Please have a look into the latest model we made, which is much better than our previous work. It is very representative to what we are going to achieve. Most importantly we believe if you may help us solve this error we can expand the example to larger scale models.

Regards,

    Hello,

A few precautions must be considered when using non meshed coils and thin conducting regions in the same project. In fact, the formulation of the air volume around each one must be different, so both can not exist in the same air volume. To avoid that, you must create an air volume surrounding the non mesh coil, or the thin conductor region, to have thin conductor region and non mesh coils in two different air volumes.

    I hope this helps!
