Is there any failure models available in Optistruct for implicit nonlinear analysis?
I need to remove the elements once uts is reached / strain value reached ?

I am looking for plastic material, for now I am using the MAT1 with MATS1 (table data).
I am facing the non convergence error due to heavy element distortion. So I would like to remove the elements failed in the model.

Have you gone through MATF card?
In MATF you can use DUCTILE failure with a limit on stress.

If you are using an isotropic material, you can use either STRN or DUCTILE
If I am using STRN, should I specify the Material stress limits Vi and Parameters for failure envelope.

I checked with experts and there is no element deletion will happen for now with MATF
