Tire models such as Pacejka, Fiala etc are the basis for commercial tire codes bundled with Altair Simulation. Nearly all are empirically derived, which means that real tires are tested and the raw data is fitted to produce the co-efficients necessary to populate the tire model of choice. It may therefore become necessary to validate the fitted tire data against the raw test data, or to perform design exploration of some co-efficients within the confines of the tire model definition. The Tire Test Rig available in Altair's premium multibody pre-processor, MotionView, makes this a straightforward process. The below videos show how to use this feature in some detail.
