This article aims to demonstrate how Altair Radioss is used to simulate a Picture Frame test. This test is used to evaluate in-plane shear characteristics of fabric material, such as shear modulus and fiber locking angle.
The test consists of a squared specimen held by clamps on all four edges, pin-connected at their ends, creating a square frame. The specimen is then pulled. The simulation results are compared with the physical test.
