Fatigue analysis with preload

hello everyone,

Is it possible to perform fatigue analysis with a preloaded staic/transient subcase?

I have a component which is preloaded and then undergoes fatigue test in preloaded condition itself.

is it possible?

Regards,

Bharat

    Hi,

Currently we cannot reference static and transient subcases in a single FATEVNT. For your purposes, since it is a Press fit solution, you should theoretically be able to apply the NLSTAT press fit effect using STATSUB(PRELOAD) in the DTRAN subcase (available in 14.0). Please note that this only modifies the stiffness matrix (NLSTAT press fit effect) in the transient subcase.  The preloaded DTRAN subcase can then be referenced by FATEVNT.

Also, note that PARAM,NLFAT should be used with caution.
