Question on the node location file

I am a opto-mechanical analysis engineer.

The surface deformation of a mirror under various load cases is what I concern.

To perform a surface analysis, a 'txt' file that containing the locations of the nodes on the mirror surface is needed, and also a 'txt' file that containing the deformation information, such as '-0.001 -0.080 +0.012.....' figuring the X/Y/Z component of the displacements of the nodes.

My question is: How can I get the two TXT file?

PS: I was used to PATRAN/NASTRAN. PATRAN can generate a 'report' file containing the displacement information.

    Hi,

assuming that you have already a results file containing the displacement as result type, you could use HyperView for that. Load the model/results file in HyperView, create a vector plot of your displacement and use 'Query Results' (activate Vector(Displacement). After you created your table in HyperView, you can export it to a .csv file.

To get a file with the original node coordinates, go to your first time step (where you do not have any displacement), do the same thing but activate Node Coordinates. You could also do this in HyperMesh by creating a small summary script.

If you mean, you would like to see the Nodal Coordinates as well as the Vector Displacement for nodes.
First, in the vector option get the results

After this if you click Query results, you will find the vector displacement
