Hello All,

can anyone tell if there is a quick way to fill holes in Shell-Meshes? Like i want to replace a rigid spider in a bolt hole (see pic) with normal Shell-Elements?

You can do a 2d > spline > choose mesh without surface in options in the right hand side of the panel > node list > by path > select the  nodes of the hole > choose the element size in the interactive panel that comes up.

You can use 2d > ruled > node list > by path > select the top nodes for the first node list and bottom nodes of the hole for the second node list > choose the element size in the interactive panel that comes up.

Thanks, seems to work. But i think with your first option, it is 'mesh, keep surf'

    FYI,

You can use the Fill hole feature to fill holes in mesh.

Goto Utility browser>> Geom/Mesh>> Fill Holes

Yes, i already checked the Fill Hole feature. Problem with that is, it fills the hole and then does a complete remesh including the surrounding area, but i would like to Keep the hole's edges..
