Surface Breaking Takes so Long

I am really wondering why it takes so long for hypermesh to break surfaces in my certain model.

It takes more than 5 hours to totally break few surfaces only. I don't believe it is because of my computer. My computer has a lot of power to run this software.

See picture below for the surfaces to be broken before meshing.

Hypermesh 2017

CPU Processor: Xeon E-2286M

16 Gb RAM DDR4

Quadro RTX 3000 Professional GPU

512Gb M.2 NVMe Storage (KXG60ZNV512G TOSHIBA)

I am also attaching the file for anytime to test the surface breaking.

I don't know if I have to tweak my GPU for Hypermesh or just leave everything in default mode.

    Hi Rod,

I think there is something strange happening with your model. The model even takes a long time for opening...

But for trimming surfaces: have a look at the messages you are receiving in the left bottom corner. If you are receiving the message 'advanced remesh preprocessing' you should change the topology revision from 'advanced remesh' to 'keep mesh'.

Advanced remesh means the following: you are doing changes on your surface and the mesh will automatically be updated to that changes. That might lead to long trimming times.

Keep mesh means that the mesh will stay as it is during changes on the surfaces are made.

Hope that will solve your problem.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I didn't know there's a feature like that. So how will I activate that 'Keep Mesh' thing?

You are more than welcome :-)

did it work? is trimming taking less time now?
